Kosaka Machi Katsura Ramen

It is said to have originated about 40 years ago when a customer expressed a desire to eat both katsu-don and ramen at the same time, leading to the creation of a dish featuring simmered tonkatsu in egg, served atop soy sauce ramen. With the hope of sharing Kosaka Town’s culinary culture, the owners of seven restaurants came together to offer the dish, each with their own unique seasoning. In addition to the classic soy sauce flavor, enjoy a variety of tastes unique to each shop, including miso, salt, and spicy varieties. It was also selected as a “100-Year Food” by the Agency for Cultural Affairs in Reiwa 5!

Akita Hinaiya

A renowned restaurant in Odate City that serves Akita specialties, including Hinai-dori chicken. Our top recommendation is the famous “Hinai-dori Oyakodon.” This rich, egg-topped rice bowl uses only female Hinai-dori chickens, known for their firm, springy texture. The Hinai-dori meat has a firm, springy texture, and its sweetness spreads throughout your mouth with every bite. Be sure to note the restaurant’s commitment to using Hinai-jidori even in the eggs, as well as the sauce, which contains absolutely no artificial flavorings. Please also enjoy authentic “Kiritanpo Nabe” infused with Hinai-jidori broth, along with other Akita specialties such as tonburi, junsai, and iburigakko. [Notice of Store Relocation] We will resume operations at the address below starting Sunday, April 19, 2026. Postal Code: 017-0045 1-7-12 Nakamichi, Odate City, Akita Prefecture *There are no changes to our phone number or business hours.

Authentic Odate Kiritanpo

"Kiritanpo" originated in the Odate and Kitakari regions. Legend has it that long ago, ancestors who had taken up residence in the mountains to work as charcoal burners or harvest Akita cedar would knead leftover rice from their mountain huts and add it to chicken hot pot or spread miso paste on it to eat—and that is said to be how it began. Although it is known nationwide as an Akita specialty, Odate City is considered its true home. In Odate, it has been passed down as a common home-cooked dish, becoming a taste of home, and is served in households throughout the year. Please enjoy the authentic flavor unique to this region.
