The Spirit of the Matagi: “Matagiyama Sword.”

The workshop of Minoru Nishine, the third-generation master blacksmith of the Nagasa school—who was himself a Matagi—has been preserved exactly as it was during his lifetime, and visitors are welcome to tour it.

Currently, his wife, Seiko, carefully maintains the workshop. She not only explains the Matagi Soul “Matagiyama Sword” but also shares valuable stories about Minoru, who was both a Matagi and a Nagasa blacksmith.

While the swords are available for purchase, we invite you to come first and foremost to experience the spirit of the Matagi and to meet the gentle, smiling Seiko.
