Mount Moriyoshi (1,454 m), which towers over the central-eastern part of Akita Prefecture, is a mountain formed by volcanic activity.

It is famous as one of the “100 Famous Mountains for Flowers,” and wildflowers bloom profusely from early spring through late summer.

Mount Moriyoshi is also known as a prime spot for autumn foliage, attracting many visitors in the fall.
