An event in Kitaakita City that has long been beloved under the name “Hometown Dance and Mochi Festival” has been rebranded as the “Daikaku Festival Hometown Dance Festival” and is making a fresh start starting in 2025.

On the main stage, a series of performances will be held, featuring traditional dances and performing arts representative of Kitaakita City—such as the Tsuzuri-ko Odaiko drumming, lion dance, and horse dance—as well as performances by local elementary schools and guest artists.

On the Takano Ginza-dori Shopping Street, which is closed to traffic for the event, a large-scale dance parade will take place to the rhythms of the Takano Ondo and Kome-san Ondo.

Don’t miss the booths selling Kitakita City’s mochi or the chance to shop at the flea market.
