Let's all create together! Let's have fun!
Held around Ani-ai Station on the Akita Inland Line, this community-participation event uses snow—a local resource—and candles from households to connect the neighborhood with snow candles, bringing everyone in the community together.
When the lights are lit throughout the neighborhood, it creates a magical atmosphere. In front of Ani-ai Station and in the parking lot of the Ani Fire Station, a “Snow Candle Mountain” will be created using colorful painted plastic bottles and numerous lit candles. The Ani Ijinkan will also be illuminated, and starting at 5:20 p.m., the now-traditional winter fireworks display will take place in grand style.
In addition, there will be the “Snow Candle Live” (starting at 5:30 PM) featuring artists active in Akita, as well as a “Food Corner” (4:30 PM–7:45 PM) where you can enjoy warm food and drinks.
★Volunteers Wanted
We are looking for volunteers to help build mini kamakura snow huts. Please come to the front of the Ani Branch Office of the Kitaakita City Hall at 1:30 PM.
