The Kitakita City Yoneshiro River Fireworks Festival is held every year in early July at the Yoneshiro River Riverside Park.

This fireworks festival, which heralds the arrival of summer in Akita, features approximately 2,500 fireworks—including grand star mines and special effects displays—that light up the surface of the Yoneshiro River.

In 2026, “Pro-Wrestling Tsugaru” will make a guest appearance, and visitors can also enjoy a large maze activity designed for children.
