Takanosu Central Park is one of the “30 Scenic Spots of Akita,” and with approximately 800 cherry trees—primarily Somei-Yoshino—in full bloom, it attracts large crowds of cherry blossom viewers.

During the festival, the cherry blossoms are illuminated at night. The illuminated rows of cherry trees shimmer and are reflected on the lake’s surface, inviting visitors into a magical world.

Please enjoy your time here however you like—whether strolling around the lake while admiring the cherry blossoms or spreading out a picnic lunch to spend quality time with family and friends.
