Nakayashiro

This pear is known for its juiciness and intense sweetness.

The Nakayama district of Odate City is located in the northern part of Akita Prefecture.

The pears harvested there are collectively known as “Nakayama Pears,” and are also called “the northernmost pears” by locals.

Due to the significant daily temperature fluctuations in this region, the pears grown here are juicy and have a concentrated sweetness.

The cultivation of Nakayama Pears began during the Meiji era, and they have a history spanning over 100 years.

They have received high praise at agricultural competitions and are recognized as high-quality pears.
