Designated as a National Important Cultural Property, this building was established in 1910 as a welfare facility for the Kosaka Mine.

It features a rare architectural style that blends Japanese and Western elements: the exterior is modern and Western-style, while the interior is purely Japanese and incorporates the traditional stage mechanisms of a kabuki theater.

Still in active use as a theater more than a century later, it hosts regular Kabuki performances and lavish dance shows.

Before and after performances, guides provide tours explaining the building’s history and stage mechanisms.

Don’t miss the traditional stage mechanisms, such as the revolving stage, and the dressing rooms where Kabuki actors’ autographs remain.
