Kayakusa Shichimenzan Shrine

A sacred atmosphere

It is said that Kounoike Zenemon of Osaka was the founder, during the Kanbun era (April 1661 – September 1673).
It is worshiped by believers from all over the Tohoku region as a sacred place.
From Anikayakusa, Kitaakita City, on National Highway 105, enter the mountainous area and follow the narrow, windy road of the cedar forest, where you will find Mt. Shichimen.
When you cross the red bridge at the entrance, the sacred atmosphere is all around at once.
If you go up the stairs and follow the course of pilgrimage to the sacred place, you will feel like you are in another world.
Experience being surrounded by a spiritual atmosphere that you cannot experience in your everyday life.
